Citrix Xen App for FreeBSD
I finally managed to get Citrix 11 committed to the repository as net/citrix_xenapp. The Citrix 10 client will be left as net/citrix_ica for a little while yet.
Please be aware that the Xen App client requires linux-f8 emulation to install and run. Please check out my wiki page for further instructions.
I still need to do some localisation testing for the German and Japanese versions.
Stay tuned…
P.S. Pav the repocopies still aren’t abandoned
New Ports committer, Alexander Logvinov, avl@
Short story long, I was privileged to meet Greg Larkin, glarkin@, at BSDCan 2009. We were chatting during lunch time one day and he says something like, “I really should mentor somebody”. I told him I would take him up on the offer in the near future.
That moment arrived, to co-mentor avl@.
Congratulations Alexander, may your pointyhats be elusive

Dennis Herrmann worked very hard since receving his port commit bit, and today miwi and I set him free.
Good luck Dennis, and remember, I like chocolate chip cookies
Day 2 at BSDcan
My brain hurts.
I sat in sessions today, and hung on the speaker’s every word, trying to cram in as much as I possibly could.
Epic fail. SEGFAULT. Core dumped, brain fried.
‘Twas the night before BSDcan
I will be in Ottawa in time for lunch on day one of the DevSummit. I will attempt to blog some of of the events. Stay tuned
New ports committer, Gabor Pali
Just in time for the 7.2 freeze, I got word from portmgr@ that I could mentor Gabo Pali, pgj@ in ports, with gabor@ as co-mentor.
I first hooked up with pgj@ when I submitted a PR to add a light bulb joke in the FreeBSD FAQ. Since that time, pgj@ wanted to wade into the ports world by helping out with Haskell. I have been reviewing his work since the new year, and decided to make it legit early in April.
Enjoy the enhanced commit privs, Gabor, and please don’t break the INDEX!
New ports committer, Dennis Herrmann
I am fortunate to be co-mentor with Martin Wilke, to learn Dennis the subtle nuances of being a Ports Committer.
Don’t think of Dennis as +1 to the German World Domination Team, think of him as a citizen of the world. Of course, should Dennis receive is first Pointyhat, I will declare him German, and Martin will declare him West German :>
Congratulations, Dennis, may your Pointyhats be elusive!
GAHR’s Legion of Telestorian Minions
gahr@ recently announced a temporary hiatus, http://www.gahr.ch/blog/?p=12. A group of us will be backing his ports in his absence. This coalition is called GAHR’s Legion of Telestorian Minions. We are legion, because we are many. Resistance is futile

Long time no post :(
For a little while I hosted my own blog, but tore it down. Didn’t write much there, either.
So what have I been up to in the realm of FreeBSD? For a while I was helping in the smallest way with KDE4 testing, I joined the ports-security@ team, and also the donations@ team.
I have also dabbled a little with British English translations. I have join the GnomeSword team as a translator. And now that I have a better grasp of qt-linguist, I have started working on Bibletime. I am not British, I am Canadian, and I much prefer en_GB spelling!
Hopefully it will be much sooner before my next post.
jadawin is flying solo
After about 4 months of mentoring my protege, Philippe Audeoud, along with thierry@, we have cast him free to commit in the wild.
Good luck jadawin, go into the world, and commit to your heart’s content!
